"Foundation Against Thalassaemia Regd." is a registered NGO based at Faridabad Haryana India. Foundation was set up in 1995 and was registered under societies act 1860/21 on 24 April 2001 by a group of parents & charitable members of community. Foundation received no subvention [grant] from Government over the years, Foundation had been inspired to work towards improving clinical care, enhance public awareness of Thalassaemia. This is to ensure that children born with Thalassaemia major can grow in the healthy and happy environment. Its members are engaged in various activities aimed for 'Prevention and Treatment' of a dreaded disease Thalassaemia.

We are helping Thalassaemics by providing free medicines and blood. As you know Thalassaemia is genetic incurable disease in which affected child unable to maintain normal haemoglobin level. Completely depending on the periodic blood transfusion and regular supply of medicines till the very end of their lives, the children suffering from the scourge of Thalassaemia cannot be treated with any type of diet/tonic or medicine. The only solution effected child requires blood transfusion at the interval of 15 to 20 days to survive and also requires costly medicines approximate 5 to 10 thousands per month. The treatment is too torturous and painful besides heavy expenses; patients and their parents have to suffer heavy mental tension.
Our organisation Foundation Against Thalassaemia is the only one organisation in Haryana, which is fighting a battle of survival for the Children suffering from the deadly disease in a big way.
Permanent and best treatment for such children is Bone Marrow Transplantation (B.M.T.) with a matched brother / sister. In India Bone Marrow Transplantation is available at Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore Tamil Nadu. The estimated cost of B.M.T at C.M.C H Vellore is around 12 lac. In addition to this cost, medicines and timely investigation before and after B.M.T costs another 2 – 3 lac making a total budget of Rs. 14 – 15 Lac. Health Checkup
The Foundation Against Thalassaemia has been arranging free blood for children with Thalassaemia since last 25 years. Foundation helping since when one unit of blood was donated in blood and they get one unit of blood. Later we met Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam, Dr. Harsh Vardhan ji and got directions to all blood banks by the government that all blood banks would be give free blood to children suffering from Thalassaemia without any replacement donor, which was a huge achievement for the institution in itself.
Free checkup camp is organized by the institution every month. Dr. Amita Mahajan of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital Delhi and her team giving free service for same. Dr. V.K. Khanna of Sir Gangaram Hospital Delhi Dr. Manas Kalra, Dr. Anju Virmani, Dr. Nupur, Dr. Rakesh Gupta periodically checked up.

Free Education
Foundation Against Thalassaemia is trying all the time to provide high-quality education to Thalassaemic children. A free computer center was established in the year 2003 to provide computer education to children with Thalassaemia when the computer was not in reach of every one. This center was established in association with the late Shri Gopal Sharma founder M.V.N. School. With the cooperation of Faridabad administration, the fees of Thalassaemic students in private schools of Faridabad are either waived or given concession, for which the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner Municipal Cooperation Faridabad supporting. We are providing Cycles, copies and books to school going children in collaboration with Bannuwal Welfare Association.

Blood
Blood is life line for Human and it Cannot be manufactured. It comes only from generous donors. Unfortunately Thalassaemia is disease in which body of sufferer fail to produce blood in body. They need blood transfusion in the interval of 15-20 days.
Foundation Against Thalassaemia is committed to make arrangements of blood required for survival of all Thalassaemia patients associated with us. We also make arrangement of blood for other needy approaching us for blood.
We organise regular blood donation camp to meet this requirement. Many NGOs working for welfare of society are providing their best support in blood donation camps.
All blood banks of our city always come forward for organising camps and issuing blood to these needy Thalassaemia warriors.
We are Thankful to all donors, blood banks and NGOs joined hand together to meet requirement of blood in this tough time of COVID-19.

The Foundation Against Thalassaemia conducts entertainment programs for children from time to time, in this program, children are introduced to world famous people and they enjoy themselves together with like Mr. Narendra Chanchal ji, famous singer Mr. Guru Randhawa, Sapna Chaudhary, Bharti Singh Lalli, Karisma Kapoor, comic poet Surendra Sharma, famous cricket star Kapil Dev Ji, Virender Sehwag.
Apart from all these, children met many times to the President of the India, the Prime Minister of India so far children met former President of India Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India Late Sh. Pranab Mukerjee, Smt. Pratibha Patil, Sh. Ramnath Kovind, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Rahul Gandhi which are included in their sweet memories.
